This precious little girl is 1 month old! She really is just a little precious thing. While the first month is definately taxing, she could have been a better addition to the family. She pretty much goes along with the flow (as long as she is being held) and has adapted well to being toted around getting her brothers to and from their activities. Sofie's milestones at 1 month are:
- She loves to be held upright so she can see the world behind my shoulder.
- She has taken to nursing very well and was 9 lbs 6 oz and 20" at her 3 week appointment. So she quickly outgrew her NB clothing and is wearing the 3 month clothing.
- She is very alert when awake and stares at the world with those dark eyes and just studies her surroundings.
- She loves to be outside and loves her swing for about 30 minutes at a time. She likes changes of scenery....I think she gets bored easily.
- She goes to bed at 8 or 8:30 and gets up at about 8 am. In between, she nurses about 2 or 3 times...very doable for this mama!
- She makes a ton of noises in her sleep. Grunting, crying, laughing, etc. So, I had to move her from the cradle by my bed to her room at 4 weeks. This has worked out perfectly, as mommy and daddy are getting better sleep and you seem to do better too.
- She does not really like bathtime. I think its the cold so I'm sure this will change when she is old enough to sit and enjoy.
- Her naps are still very unorganized which is to be expected at this stage. She has a tendancy to fight sleep during the day and get over tired. Then, it is very hard for me to get her down for a decent nap....I need to work on this!
- She loves her big brothers voices and loves for them to sing. The often sing "Puff, The Magic Dragon" which Lucas has learned in music class at school and he taught it to Eli. Sofie loves this.
- She has truely smiled at be twice but was looking at my forehead so I think she should be making eye contact pretty soon!!
