Eli is 4!

Our little Eli is 4!  We had a birthday party for him at H.appy P.layland with all of his buddies and he had a blast.  Its an indoor play yard with a big play scape, play house, and pirate ship.  It was a hit and Eli had a blast.  It was the first party we've thrown for him with his buddies.  Normally, we have had family parties and gone to the zoo but this year he is old enough to enjoy having his friends there.  He was adorable and shy when we sang to him.  I just love him.  At four years of age, Eli is:

• Entertaining.  He will make us all laugh and enjoys it.  He will sing, dance, and do funny things just to entertain.
• He is starting to drop the toddler look and is looking like a little boy.
• He is a contrarian.  If we say the sky is blue, he will insist its green.  He is very passionate about it too and will often cry out of frustration that we are not agreeing that the sky is green.
• He is very intense.  He loves intensely, plays intensely, and is mad intensely.  There is no in between.  Right now he is obsessed with animals, dinosaurs, hunting/shooting, and to some extent, music, and of course, the D.isney channel, and movies.
• He can't say his "r" or "l". I love when he tries to say lululemon....it comes out wuwuwemon.
• He is very compassionate and hates to see people get hurt.  He will cry if he sees anyone he loves get hurt.
• He goes to school 3 days a week from 9-12 and just loves it. That is usually the first question he asks in the morning is "is I'm goin to school today?"
• He is not the best eater.  We have to bribe him with dates, larabars,  or other paleo treats to get him to eat his dinner.  He usually eats breakfast and lunch but it takes a good 45 minutes.  I think he is just a procrastinator and waits until the last minute.
• He still is taking a 1.5-2 hour nap every day. He sleeps 11-12 hours a night.  He has started to get up kind of early so I think that is a sign that he needs to take a shorter nap.  I will see if it keeps up and then try to shorten his nap.
• He loves to watch movies and "baby shows" (which are little boy cartoons).
•  He can fasten himself into the car seat now, that is a pretty big deal for me!!
• He loves to wrestle and play rough with Daddy and Lucas.
• When he is watching the "suspenseful" part of a movie, he has to go get his toy gun to have just in case he needs to "protect himself."
• He such a sweet little boy, he is caring and he is loving.  He is the lively one in the family and he keeps us all on our toes.  We love him to pieces!
