Sofie's 1/2 year Birthday!

We've made it to the 1/2 year mark!  This little girl is so sweet and her little precious smile just lights up our day.  It's kinda hard to look at that little face and not smile yourself. So at 6 months, Sofie is:

• Rolling from tummy to back and almost from back to tummy.  She gets all the way on her side but does not complete "the roll."
• She is nursing 5 times per day but towards the end of her 5 month I had to add in another nursing during the day because she was waking to eat at 3 or 4 in the morning.  No bueno.  Once I added in that other feeding, she went back to eating at 5-5:30. 
• We started solids on her 6 month birthday with some avocado.  She was very interested in getting it into her mouth but was not too excited about swallowing it.  She will catch on pretty quickly, I bet.
• We have been battling eczema and I think we have it going our way.  I cut out eggs in my diet, increased my vitamin D intake, started putting aquaphor on her skin.  It has completely cleared up.  We have an appt. with the allergist to check on a possible egg allergy.
• She is sleeping 10 hours straight from 7 or 7:30 until about 5 or 5:30.  Then goes back to bed until about 7:30.  She is taking 2 naps a day.  One at 9:30 and one at about 1pm.  Combined, she sleeps about 3-3.5 hours during the day.  Sometimes the morning nap is an hour and sometimes its 2.  If her morning nap is long, the afternoon nap is short and that makes for a tense evening!  Point is, we are still working on a nap schedule...
• She loves peekaboo and loves squeaky toys and clapping or any other repetitive noise.  She will just laugh and laugh.
• She has just discovered her feet.  Every time she lays down those hands go right for her feet.
• She loves to watch her brothers play and do things together.  She watches every move they make and just smiles and laughs.
• No teeth yet but the drooling is never ending!
• Hands down, the happiest baby I have ever been around!

 

We love, love, love this little girl!  Watching her grow has been so rewarding and such a privilege to be able to stay home and raise her.
