Lucas is 8!

Lucas has turned 8 years old!! I just can't believe what an awesome kid he is!  We are so lucky to be his parents. At 8 years old he is:

• Very into sports.  He loves football, soccer, baseball, and basketball.  He has recently asked to take golf lessons so we will have to get on that soon!  He is very good at sports and has a lot of natural talent.  He does not have that competitive edge yet...he thinks we wins every game that he plays in!
• He is very smart.  At the school's request, he is being tested for the GT program.  He has exceptional reading comprehension, math skills, and artistic/creative abilities. He makes all A's and B's.  His worst subjects are spelling and reading fluency.
• His favorite subjects are health/fitness, recess, math, and art.
• He loves ice cream more than anyone should love ice cream!
• He LOVES Christmas.
• He got to throw out the first pitch at an Astros game last spring and that is something he will never forget.
• He loves hunting/shooting and other outdoorsy activities.  He loves that homesteaders show filmed in Alaska (I hope he is not getting any ideas!).
• He rarely gets into trouble...he makes very good decisions and almost always does the right thing.
• He is EXTREMELY disorganized and messy.  His stuff is all over the house!
• His conversational skills have really matured.  You can sit and have a great conversation with this kid and he will give you really mature and honest feedback.
• His favorite color is blue.
• He loves music and rock and roll!  YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSS! He loves 'Whole Lotta Love', 'Enter Sandman', 'Ghost'.
