Santa!!

We made our annual trip to Santa's Wonderland to see the lights, Santa, and have some fun.  The problem was that the entire city of Houston chose the same night to go so the lines were AWFUL!  We waited 1.5 hours to see Santa and it was like 40 degrees. The problem is, you drive 1.5 hours to get there so you can't just leave and say, oh we can come back later!!  You just have to grin and bear it. The kids were troopers, though.  It was the adults that were cranky and complaining!!  Next year we are going on a weeknight to avoid the crowds, for sure!!
The lights were beautiful and of course the Santa was awesome! The kids even got to see the REAL PRANCER!!  While we waited in line, the kids were "evaluated" by Peppermint, the Elf and that was pretty cute.  The both were "on the nice list" and Peppermint even knew the name of our Elf on the Shelf (Johnny Ornament).  When Peppermint told Eli that Johnny Ornament had told him that he was a good boy but needed to work on not whining and picking up his toys, Eli made the funniest face.  It was of complete annoyance that he would have to work on anything.  That is so Eli.  Peppermint told Lucas he was a good boy and needed to work on listening better and then by the time we got on the hayride to see the lights he did not remember what he was supposed to work on!!  Lucas, that was exactly what Peppermint was talking about!!!!!!  Sofie enjoyed seeing the lights and was non-plussed by Santa this year but she was up 2 hours past bedtime so she probably was having and out of body experience!
