ELI IS 2 YEARS OLD!!

My little baby is not so little anymore! Today he is 2 years old and such a little (big) joy in our lives. Here is where Eli is at:

• Eli is 34-35 lbs depending on what time of day he gets on the scale :)


• He is 34 - 1/4" tall and just to put this into perspective, we measured his height at the end of August and he has grown 2" since then!


• We discovered recently that Eli has a slight intolerance/allergy to gluten/grains and dairy so we have eliminated all of those foods from our diet and he is like a new kid. No more runny noses, he is so much happier and healthier.


• He is saying several words and just this week has really started trying more. I think he gets shy and does not want to say words but he is starting to grow out of that and is starting to repeat a lot of words that he hears us say.


• He still sleeps about 12 hours a night and takes a 2-3 hour nap at noon every day.


• Some foods that he really loves that are memorable/noteworthy are smoked salmon, any kind of fruit or nut, raw broccoli with guacamole, carrot sticks, meatballs, eggs, he loves his grain/dairy free pancakes, and anything with bacon or sausage in it :)


• He is in love with his cousin Lily and they play well together. He is constantly loving on her.


• He asks for his nene and papaw several times a day!


• He is afraid of heights and is pretty disgusted by bugs. He shutters when he sees a bug or someones booboos.


• He is VERY ticklish and will most likely hurt you if you try and tickle him. Not because he wants to hurt you but because he is so darn strong.


• Speaking of strong, he can tear a house up. He can break toys that are thought to be indestructible. He can injure you just by trying to love on you.


• He loves to try and dance the hula and takes this very seriously. He loves to dance, period.


• One thing about Eli at this age is that while he cannot speak in sentences, he is very expressive with his face and body language. You will know what he wants/needs even though he can't say it......yet.


• He will try ever so hard to be and do things like his big brother, Lucas.


• He loves to swing and loves to be outside.


• He has very recently (last couple of months) become very attached to his blankey and simply cannot fall asleep without it.


• He is headstrong and yet sensitive at the same time. Maybe it is his age but he will cry like its the end of the world if he thinks you are mad at him or if he does not get to do what he wants like stay outside, ride the swing a little longer, etc. These 2 things will create some BIG TEARS!

Eli is an angel. He is ornery at times but he is so darn loving. He is very sweet and loves his family and loves getting love from his family. He is mighty strong and very physically capable. I definitely see athletics in his future!
